In my photographs, I hope to capture... moments of intimacy through the relationship between light, shadow, and the element of composition. My photographs are what I see and feel at 'that' moment and what I want you to see and feel...too. I believe photography helps to bring those moments to life.

As a Hawaiian artist I try to convey through my photography my understanding of the traditional Hawaiian value that all natural resources of our environment, ocean(kai), land(aina), and sky(lani) are interrelated and culturally significant to Hawaii and its people.

I show my photographs of Hawaii in hope that more people can enjoy the 'true' beauty of Hawaii and can begin to understand what my ancestors, the Hawaiian people, knew. That through their vast knowledge of the environment their very existence depended on its care.

In my photography I try to capture that magic of intimacy through the relationship between light, shadow, and the element of composition. That "special moment that transcends" the picture for me, is what I see and feel just before I take the picture, the magic!

My photography as an Hawaiian, in my beautiful Hawaii, is a passion that I share. It's what I see through my eyes as a Hawaiian and with my understanding of the traditional Hawaiian value. It's an understanding that all natural resources of our environment, the ocean(kai), land(aina), and sky(lani), are interrelated and culturally significant to Hawaii and its people.

I show my photographs of Hawaii in hope that more people can feel and enjoy the "true beauty" of Hawaii, as I do. So they can begin to understand what my ancestors, the Hawaiian people, knew. That through their vast knowledge of the environment their very existence depended on its care. I hope to share the Aloha and love I have for my Hawaii, through my photography. What I see, with my eyes I photograph.....with the way I see them!

"To me, photography is an art of observation ...it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them." Elliott Erwitt
